Your impact as a Financial Control Specialist at NN Group

Group Finance facilitates and coordinates the process to deliver the evaluation on the internal controls which is the substantiation of the in-control statement in the annual report of NN Group. Group Finance also coordinates the Solvency II data quality at Group level and coordinates the relationship with NN Group's external auditor. As part of the Finance Control team within Group Finance Financial Accounting & Reporting, you will actively contribute to the interpretation and translation of the requirements associated with relevant legislation (Dutch Corporate Governance Code, Solvency II) including follow-up of findings and potential improvements. You will be able to increase your knowledge and network through maintaining contacts with the business units and other corporate departments. You will assist the business units and corporate departments by providing guidance based on materiality thresholds and scope which at a minimum include accounts and processes throughout the Group. You will prepare and organize the meetings to evaluate the outcome and overall status which result in a report to the Executive and Management Board of NN Group.

• Keep the standards, manuals and guidance up to date;
• Monitor progress through a quarterly review process in cooperation with the business units and corporate departments;
• Aggregate and consolidate the outcome in an overall progress and status report;
• Prepare the reports to the Management Board,

Critical skills of a Finance Control Specialist

As we operate in a rapidly changing environment, you have a serious interest in data management and how data management and related controls could work. You can rely on your analytical talent, which gives you a strong foundation for valid arguments. You take a critical look at your way of working and the financial reporting risk approach at NN Group level. Your own initiative is highly beneficial, as you can quickly find your feet and bring clarity by asking the right questions. Fortunately, you also possess strong communication skills which help you to express yourself clearly in both Dutch and English.

You have a background in audit and are familiar with internal controls over financial reporting, preferably in the financial services industry. You are able to connect relevant finance and risk matters and to align with the different stakeholders. You also know your way around reporting requirements (IFRS, Solvency II). You have attention to detail and a good feeling for the big picture.
