Your challenge
As Senior Business Controller you act as a strategic sparring partner to senior management and contribute to reporting and analysis of progress on, amongst others,  strategic objectives. You achieve this by actively maintaining relationships with local management and business control teams and working closely with them in business reviews, Budget/MTP and operational performance review processes. You prepare proposals and advise management regarding issues/processes and improvement of business strategic performance within the own functional area. In addition, you are responsible for organizing the Quarterly Business Review meetings of the Management Board and preparing quarterly business update presentations for the Supervisory Board. The Business Control team is part of the Financial & Capital Strategies team at Corporate Center, and consists of Business Control, Capital Management, Strategic Financial Analysis and Global Rating Agency Management.
 
The Business Control team at Corporate Center works closely with the different departments at Corporate Center such as Finance and Strategy, and local business control teams in the business units, and supports/coordinates the activities of those local business control teams.
 
The Business Control team is part of the Financial & Capital Strategies team.  As Senior Business Controller you will report directly to the Head of Financial & Capital Strategies.
  Requirements As a Senior Business Controller you have strong financial and performance reporting skills. Also, you show leadership and you like to work together with your co-workers and stakeholders.

Moreover, you have the following qualifications:
 

• An academic degree with more than of 5 years of working experience in the field of business control;
• Good communication skills: providing information, listening, and most importantly, convincing;
• A hands on mentality, plus you are a team player and result oriented;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Good understanding of Aegon’s operations in the various business units in order to act as a business partner.
