The CFO to COO/CTO team is part of the broader Finance domain at ING. With over 50 people, the team delivers a repertoire of various finance advice services to the COO (Chief Operating Office) and CTO (Chief Technology Office) organization, including Performance and Cost Management, Operations and Procurement, Global Change and Transformation , IT Tech and IBSS (ING Business Shared Services) Finance. Our team aims to enable and empower the COO/CTO organization to make robust business decisions based on the provision of high quality financial modelling and forecasting, insightful analysis and commercially-oriented finance reports and finance advice.

Job Overview
Part of the team is IBSS Finance, a small Amsterdam-based team responsible for financially controlling and reporting the shared service hubs of ING. This involves various international locations in the Philippines, Poland, Slovakia and Romania, and the COO Finance and Risk domain in the Netherlands. The role is highly visible to senior management and the work has high impact through enabling the business to deliver targets set forth as part of delivering the Accelerated Think Forward strategy. Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for activities related to the financial management and control of the COO Finance and Risk domain. This domain consists of a Global Finance and Risk Services centre, and a delivery organisation for Finance and Risk related systems and processes, and has recently implemented the Agile way of working which leads to many challenges, e.g. on correct reporting of change and baseline. The role includes the following responsibilities:

Business Advice:

  • o Further improve the Finance function in COO Finance and Riskby implementing processes, improved reporting and controls. Special focus areas are improving change – baseline reporting in an Agile environment, and set up or improve pricing and charging of services to internal clients
  • o Advise the Management Team (MT) of COO Finance and Risk, Manager IBSS Finance, Finance MT on relevant financial developments
  • o Financially manage and track global business cases (investments, benefits, milestones)

Planning and Controlling activities for COO Finance and Risk:

  • o Forecasting, actuals, multi-year budget of department
  • o Change vs baseline reporting
  • o Ad hoc analysis on relevant financial topics

Requirements
You are an high-energy expert in financial controlling and business advice and will be able to optimally deliver value-added Finance advice through navigating through this complex environment. You keep an up-to-date and accurate measurement between the budget, forecast and actuals and you are able to advise the business where deviations occur or are expected. You are comfortable operating within the Agile Way of Working environment. Your analytical and reporting skills and techniques are advanced in terms of skill/competency level, quantity (€ value of portfolio), dealing with complexity, adaptability to various styles of stakeholders. You have a strong quantitative/finance acumen, business acumen and portfolio understanding. You will work independently on high-risk and complex tasks. You have in-depth knowledge of and vast experience with financial control, management accounting and analysis techniques. You are considered a source of reference for the various Finance activities by fellow employees. You proactively monitor environmental factors and make sure that all stakeholders are aligned. You draw up plans and oversight of your portfolio. You are proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and a strong communicator with all levels of the organization.
A total of at least 10 years’ experience and demonstrated ability at a senior level in management accounting / business advice. A university and/or post-graduate degree in business, accounting, economics or related field are highly desirable. Prior experience in working in a service delivery, change driven environment, including systems like ServiceNow is desirable.
