Circle Lead Risk Reporting – COORF Global Services

The COO Risk&Finance/Global Services department delivers Risk and Finance related services to its stakeholders, i.e. Global Risk functions, Group Finance, CRO’s and CFO’s of countries and Business Lines, Tax and Group Treasury. These services encompass operations, controls and reporting.

The Global Services (GS) organization has 8 Circles. You will lead one of the Circles and, accompanied by an Agile coach, you guide 2-3 self-organizing Risk Partner Teams. These teams each consist of about 5-10 employees who are responsible for delivering risk reporting services to different stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Formulate challenging objectives based on principles of output steering and proven Risk knowledge to steer on planning and content when required to deliver on the GS Super Circle goals.
  • Facilitate, support and motivate teams and team members so that they together provide the best service to our stakeholders. Attention to personal development, coaching and getting the best out of teams and employees are essential aspects of your job.

    You’ll be responsible to deliver the Risk Reporting deliverables to internal and external stakeholders of ING Bank who are depending on the analysis and reports on trends or crossings/excesses observed as part of your service offering. These services include Credit and Market risk reporting, Management and Reporting of Threshold Crossings (MRTC) and Limit Excess Services (LES).

    We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Circle Lead, who is a real ambassador of the global ING Way of Working and Orange code. He/she has proven experience in and excellent knowledge of Financial Risk, Banking and the Agile Way of Working, strives for First Time Right and Continuous improvement, delivers on promises and creates an environment where people can reach their true potential and stimulates collaboration within the Service Centre and between Tribes, Service Centre and other stakeholders.

What is expected from you?

  • You create and safeguard the Orange code and principles of the ING Way of Working and stimulate the interaction between people within and outside the own Circle
  • You are responsible for delivering on the Super Circle goals
  • You determine – in consultation with other Circle Leads and the Super Circle Lead – the teams structure, their composition and mission and facilitate teams in achieving their objectives by taking away their impediments
  • You play a crucial role in setting priorities on both circle and super circle level
  • You encourage and help team-members with their own personal and professional development
  • You create an environment in which individuals and teams are able to develop and grow towards a high performing level
  • You will be jointly responsible for setting out the policies and governance of Global Services; you will be part of the Service Center management team
  • You make sure you deliver valuable, reliable, secure and in control Global services to many different Business Partners and the regulator
  • You maintain active interaction and regular communication on Global services provided to the Risk functions, CROs, Investor Relations and stakeholders within senior management
  • You maintain/ensure regular interaction with ECB on accurate and timely follow up on regulatory deliverables and requests.
  • You help with the division of workload between the teams where necessary
  • You functionally steer the day-to-day onshore and offshore activities within your Circle
  • You act as a linking pin with the Change organization by setting requirements, formulating acceptance criteria and joining demo’s organized by Tribes/squads
  • You will be responsible for the Process Leadership which aims at optimizing and improving the processes within your Circle
  • You focus on continues improvements and efficiency of GS and developing a sound service experience in conjunction with the Business Partner Services Circle
  • You will perform the CoE role and functionally drive the performance of Risk services outsourced to offshore locations (e.g. IBSS Manila)

    Your education, experience and background

  • Education at University (Master) level in (business) economics or comparable
  • At least 5-10 years proven track record at management level
  • Thorough knowledge of prevailing regulations and ability to assess impact on ING risk reporting.
  • Experience as an Expert Lead in Financial Risk Management
  • Knowledge and experience with risk models and related frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile and Lean way of working
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Affinity with process management
