The Center of Expertise Pricing & Value Creation is responsible for the commercial pricing, price strategy, the different price structures, price positioning and the price level of all product groups (for example, payment, saving or business loans) and thus for the profit realization of the Domestic Bank.

But pricing goes beyond profit alone. Pricing is also important for

• steering our balance sheet

• steering our credit and market risks

• Influencing customer behavior and associated costs (incentivize or discourage services)

• Influence on price perception of our customers

and this steering the value creation of DB NL.

And all based on the principle that all our prices must be fair and transparent and in line with the regulations and the overall purpose of ING.

The central Pricing & Value Creation department has more than proven its value. But we see many more opportunities! As ING, we must become less dependent on our interest income. We need to make a switch to more fee-based income and other income models. And we want to make the switch to personalized & digital. With Value Based Pricing components based on willingness to pay, behavioral pricing and with cross product price propositions, thus creating more price points. In this way we create value for our clients and for ING.  

As an enabler for this strategy the CoE Pricing & Value Creation is implementing EPOS. An Enterprise Catalogue, Pricing and Billing engine that will enable ING to become more flexible, have a shorter time to market and develop more personalized, digital (cross-product) propositions.

The Pricing & Value Creation department of ING DBNL consists of 35 FTE; a mix of Pricing and IT squads. You will lead 2 squads of Pricing Marketeers (total of 13 FTE) and you will be part of the Leadership Team of CoE Pricing & Value Creation XB together with the CoE Lead, Expert Lead Digital & Personal (EPOS) and the Expert/Area Lead Pricing in Belgium.

Main duties and responsibilities;

  • Developing and maintaining the pricing strategy and pricing policies for the private and business products of Domestic Bank NL
  • Develop and maintain the underlying cost price models and assure they comply with regulations and market standards on model risk management
  • Monitoring all price points (>800) and making proposals to the management for changing rates, taking into account customer interests, margins, risk, legal, costs and reputation to reach Dynamic Plan targets. At times present and defend the price proposals in Pricing Committee DBNL
  • Monitoring of price execution and realization over all products and services
  • Ensure that we comply with ING’s risk and compliance policies and respond to requests from internal and external supervisory organizations (DNB, ECB, AFM, etc)
  • Enabling the squads to deliver in the Agile Way of Working by ensuring proper prioritization and focus on results
  • Developing competencies and knowledge sharing regarding, pricing, risk and Finance knowledge within the squads
  • Building the bridge to EPOS - the enabler of the pricing strategy and the delivery part of the Tribe to ensure future proof proposition development and execution
  • Replacing the Crossborder Expert Lead in PC DB NL and ALCO when required.
  • Manage complex stakeholder field (sales, Segment and Service Tribe leads/PALs, Sr. Management Finance & Risk)

The EL/AL Lead Pricing & Value Creation has highly developed analytical skills, a strong network within the bank and earns the respect of the pricing specialists by challenging them and giving them direction.

  • Has experience with supervisory organizations and audits
  • Has completed a university study;
  • Is fluent in the Dutch language (for being able to read legislation, public documents, reports, etc)
