Performance Analyst (COO Domain) in Amsterdam


Your work environment:

The banking industry is changing and to stay one step ahead, the COO domain has a performance management team. This team sits on the border of operations and finance and helps the business to identify improvement opportunities. The sits under the CFO COO/CTO. The 5 objectives of the team are:

  • Transparency
  • Drive transparency in operational performance through standard metrics & targets Operational intelligence
  • Identify opportunities, through structured analysis, to improve performance Impact
  • Agree improvements with the relevant business stakeholders and measure impact Efficiency tracking
  • Improve efficiency tracking and delivery management Governance
  • Support an operational performance culture throughout ING

The team works on these objectives through projects as well as established reviews with the ING COO and management board.

How to succeed

We’re a team with mixed skills, so your background could be in finance, consulting, front-line or operations. What you bring to the role:

  • 2+ years of experience, with a strong affinity to data/financial analysis. Your background could be in finance, operations, IT, strategy or project management
  • Academic education, bachelor or master – with either a background in finance, business, engineering or sciences
  • Fluent in English (oral and written), additional European languages a plus
  • You have strong analytical skills, you love data and are good with Excel and Powerpoint (good skills & willing to learn)
  • Commercial – You are commercial, you can spot financial opportunities and figure out if these are real & can be achieved
  • Consulting skills – You have consulting skills are are able to tell a story with your analysis, or are keen to learn this.
  • Communication skills – You can present a clear and simple story, even when the issue is complex. You can communicate well across all ranks, including senior management
  • Management – You are ready to manage a project team, with virtual team members and have excellent stakeholder management skills. You are able to manage expectations and deliver results.
  • Results – You have  a real drive for results. You are comfortable challenging the status quo and don’t give up easily. You want to be part of building a new team and bringing new ideas to ING
