The COO/CTO Finance team is part of the broader Finance domain at ING. With over 50 people, the team delivers a repertoire of various finance advice services to the COO (Chief Operating Office) and CTO (Chief Transformation Officer) organization, including Performance and Cost Management, Operations and Procurement, Global Change and Transformation , IT Tech and IBSS (ING Business Shared Services) Finance. Our team aims to enable and empower the COO/CTO organization to make robust business decisions based on the provision of high quality financial modelling and forecasting, insightful analysis and commercially-oriented finance reports and finance advice.

Job Overview

The purpose of the role is to lead the Finance Tech Infra team (ten people based in both The Netherlands and Poland). Playing an integral role in designing, implementing and maintaining the strategy for Finance Tech Infra and the co-pilot to the Tech Infra and Workplace Service business partners. In addition, the role provides senior management with IT-relevant and reliable information to drive towards a global scalable infrastructure platform and achieve objectives in the most financially effective and efficient way. This requires strong focus on the transformation and delivery costs of the Tech Infrastructure domain and the recovery through unit based costing of services.

 Key Responsibilities

• Team leadership and management, which includes employee related activities such as recruitment of team members, performance management (Step-Up) and employee relations matters.
• Responsible for end to end transparency of Tech Infra financials and forecasting from delivery costing towards charging of Infrastructure services. The role also acts as co-ordination point for the financials of the cross-border tribes of the Infrastructure and Work Place Services business in the Netherlands and Poland
• Being a true and acknowledged sparring partner of the Management Team on tactical and strategic topics around running IT as a business
• Responsible for enhancing and standardizing finance controls and management decision support around technology including proper forecasting, scenario analysis
• Responsible for building business cases and tracking the financial results of the related (strategic) IT contracts - financial modelling, forecasting and complex financial analysis
• Contributing to knowledge sharing between the ING banking entities and the Tech Infrastructure & Workplace Services on Finance & IT related matters.

How to succeed
For this role the aim is to recruit a highly ambitious and pro-active individual who is capable to support the bank transformation towards global scalable infrastructure platforms, a turnaround in technology and continuous change from local to global and cross border collaboration whilst taking a significant role in leading the internal processes within Finance Tech organization like enhancing financial control, oversight and strategic business advice for the Infrastructure & Workplace Services domains.  Tech Infra manages the strategic Data Centres within the Infrastructure Services as well as a the assets required to deliver the services to our clients.

• You will benefit from a Master Degree in Finance/Economics/Science/Engineering with work experience within a technology environment
• You have in depth knowledge of business control in general and specifically of controlling IT in large companies and a strong affinity with IT; you are fully up to speed with the current trends in technology, especially trends in infrastructure Cloud platforms, Cybersecurity, Agile and IT governance
• You are a true leader and can inspire, mobilise and coach the team
• You have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate good listening skills and are open to coaching and encouraging a continuous feedback environment
• Strategic, conceptual and structured thinking power (helicopter + analytical)
• You possess strong quantitative and financial modelling skills and well developed business acumen, able to translate business questions into relevant financial modelling, forecasting and analysis and finding effective solutions
• You are able to handle ambiguity and complex multi-stakeholder environment, focus on delivery and prioritization. You take it on and make it happen
