Your work environment

Group Treasury (GT) is a global function that is locally embedded in every ING bank business unit. The primary responsibilities of GT include managing the Bank’s capital, funding & liquidity and its interest rate risk profile next to the management of ING’s investment portfolio. GT also provides strategic advice on all capital and balance sheet management related topics primarily focussing on the bank’s capital and funding & liquidity position. As an analyst you are part of the central BSM team (8 FTE) in Amsterdam that is responsible for preparing balance sheet analyses focused on monitoring and analysing the developments regarding the commercial activities of the bank. For these analyses, the team takes into account the markets it operates in and the continuously changing regulatory environment the bank faces. Using your acquired knowledge and insights, you also contribute to recommendations to senior management including the Managing Board and Asset and Liability Committees (ALCO’s) of the bank to help steer the bank’s balance sheet. You execute day-to-day and ad hoc activities like the monitoring the P&L of the BSM books, contribute to the ILAAP process, the Funding plan and requests from regulators. You work closely with the other functions within Group Treasury as well as Commercial Business lines, Finance and Risk.

How to succeed

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics or engineering with above-average academic grades.
  • 1-3 years of working experience in a relevant sector or field (Banking, Finance, Supervision, Consultancy)
  • Knowledge of monitoring and assessing funding and liquidity risks and developments regarding the relevant regulation framework (ILAAP, Basel IV)
  • Comfortable and experienced in interacting with senior management, Finance and Risk teams throughout the organization
  • Programming skills (VBA for Excel) are a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and affinity for it
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing
  • Resilient and effective in stressful circumstances
