At APG Asset Management you will be part of the Cash & Collateral Management Team within Operations /Investment Operations & Accounting Services. Operations is the administrative heart of APG Asset Management. The information recipients must be able to rely on the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the information provided by Operations. The data is processed to provide high quality decision making and reporting information for the Front Office, Customers and Supervisors.

The Cash & Collateral Management Team consists of 10 professionals with vast experience in this area. The team fulfills a crucial function within Operations, with interaction with all the other teams and departments at APG Asset Management.

As a true professional you always think in terms of opportunities and solutions. You will never lose focus on your goal: reducing counterparty credit risk via Collateral and delivering a timely and correct Cash Forecast to the Front Office. The derivatives are collateralized under e.g. the CSA and GMRA covering bilateral-, centrally cleared- and tri-party transactions. As cash is held at multiple locations and intraday positions are monitored closely, this will be moving to near real time process.
 
The combination of products covered and the central position within the organization allows you to develop yourself into a true investment professional. As organization we offer and promote continuous learning, both content and process related. Some examples are CFA, Lean yellow/green belt and Agile trainings.
 
As Cash & Collateral Manager you will be responsible for:

• providing the correct cash forecast to the Trading Desk;
• reducing the counterparty credit risk via Collateral on the outstanding derivatives portfolio;
• the implementation of improvements in processes, procedures and systems;
• ad hoc exception handling.

As Cash & Collateral Manager, you know how to approach issues from different angles and ask the right questions. You are someone with a healthy ambition who takes action independently, but you are also a motivated team player. Of course you are representative, possess well developed communication and interpersonal skills and show a lot of initiative. Lifelong learning and continuous education is a normal ambition for you and you have a "can do" mentality (not a 9 to 5 attitude).

Furthermore we ask for:

• a bachelor or university degree in financial economics, business economics or business administration;
• in possession of CFA Foundation or willing to follow the course and take the exam within the first year;
• no more than 2 years’ experience, preferably within a financial institution / asset management environment;
• affinity with Cash- or Collateral Management;
• affinity with automated systems and MS Office in general (including VBA Excel);
• a strong analytical background and knowledge of databases;
• familiarity/affinity with business functions such as: Trade Processing, Pricing & Valuation, Reconciliation, Data Management etc.;
• an excellent command of English and Dutch (both oral and written).
