The Business analyst function

In our working environment, Business Analysts have a seasoned understanding of the risk management organization of ING, financial market products, data and processes. You will be the linking pin between our stakeholders and IT. You use a wide range of techniques to picture customer requirements, speak the language of the colleagues from IT, know what it takes to make things happen and have a strong sense for thinking beyond existing borders.

Your work environment

You will be operating within the Tribe Management Reporting and Analytics (MRA) of COORF. The purpose of the Tribe is to enable ING to stay a step ahead by being a trusted partner in Risk and Finance for the efficient implementation of change and improvements on global data, processes and products. Creating value to our customers is key. Openness in communication and “can do” mentality is required behavior for our organization.

You will be assigned as Business Analyst within the TracING squad. The squad operates as a team and consists of people with different profiles: developers, analysts, testers and OPS specialists.

How to succeed

We are looking for a Business Analyst, who likes to work in an agile environment delivering business value to the stakeholder community of TracING. The TracING squad provides a variety of risk management solutions to various stakeholders (mainly FIFM and Financial Risk).

As a Business Analyst within the TracING squad you:

  • Perform at HBO or academic level
  • 5+ years relevant experience as a BA in a Financial Risk field (Market Risk)
  • A seasoned understanding and experience of the risk management organization is essential to hit the ground running and communicate with the stakeholders, understanding their field of work, their desires and requirements
  • Experience with integrated data systems in large (enterprise) organizations is essential
  • UML skills and a strong understanding of data modeling; (f.e. experience with SQL)
  • IT-technical knowledge to be able to create functional specifications and designs
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle)
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Able to combine functional market risk requirements and technical solutions into a proposal that can be agreed by multiple stakeholders. Therefore you add high value on personal skills that embed vision and decisiveness
  • Know what it takes to apply knowledge to market demands, makes complex (data)analysis and translate business requirements into clear product requirements and user stories
  • Make connections between customer requirements, corporate strategy and longer term vision. And ability to clearly explain features or user stories during refinement session to the squad and to lead demo sessions to users and stakeholders
  • Understand and support the agile way of working

You are a team player, with good communication skills and experience in working in scrum teams. You are flexible and have the natural seniority to make a direct impact on the direction of the squad and chapter. You know what it takes to act as an Information/Business analyst, also focusing on craftsmanship, continuous improvement opportunities and personal development. You deliver customer value on promises and are capable to follow up on short and strict deadlines.
