The Finance Information Management team, which is part of the Financial Accounting team within Domestic Bank Netherlands (DBNL), is looking for a Chapter Lead Business Analyst.

 Your working environment

DBNL is the Retail organization of ING NL, serving private individual, SME and Midcorp clients. The Finance team controls a EUR 140bn balance sheet and significant part of the P&L of ING Group. The purpose of Financial Accounting DBNL is to provide valuable and reliable financial information to fulfil ING’s reporting obligations and to support decision making.

The Information Management team comprises 20-25 FTE, consisting of information managers, business analysts and architects. The team is responsible for  the operation and evolution of the Finance data warehouses and the related processes and reports, supporting Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Finance Business Advice within DBNL. The team continuously adapts to changes in the DBNL business, its products, processes and IT infrastructure, to ensure proper reflection in the accounts and reports. Also, together with the end users, the team is responsible to ensure we continuously comply with the changing regulatory reporting and data requirements.

Changes are delivered in accordance with the Finance strategy, regulatory requirements and business changes. We work according to ING Agile way of working principles. Important aspects in our way of working are showing flexibility, taking initiative and responsibility, continuous learning and improvement, cooperation and actively entering into a positive dialogue with others. The Chapter Lead Business Analyst reports to the Head of Information Management.

What will you do?

Your role is twofold. As a Chapter Lead, you are the hierarchical manager of the Business Analysts (BA’s) of Finance Information Management. In this role, you also work on the craftmanship of the team, and you are responsible for setting standards for processes, methodologies, policies and tools which will be used by the BA’s.

Next to this role, you perform business analyst tasks contributing to a squad purpose.In the role of Chapter Lead you:

  • You act as an agile role model
  • You introduce best practices to Business Analysts
  • Ensure as much as possible the use of ING standard processes and tools within your own area of ​​expertise.
  • Coach Business Analysts on (agile) mindset, behavior, results delivered, and continuous improvement
  • Perform the PCB (Planning, Coaching, Appraisal) cycle with all chapter members
  • Ensure qualitative alignment between Business Analyst Chapter members and the Product Owners
  • Discuss Business Analyst Chapter progress in skills development and future demand with management
  • Support & structure the growth and career trajectories of our Business Analysts
  • Enable our squads to make an impact

How to succeed

  • Bachelor/Master level in (business) economics/Information technology or similar
  • 5-10 years proven track record at management level in an agile environment
  • Good knowledge of banking products and accounting processes
  • Experience as Business Analyst and project manager
  • Experience in process management, working in a data driven environment, and you understand both IT and Finance
  • Experience in Agile working with busdevops squads and if possible in the transformation to Agile
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (Dutch is desired but not essential)
  • You have a keen eye for (data) quality and intrinsic motivation to take things to a higher level
