Finance Information Management, which is part of the Financial Accounting team within Domestic Bank Netherlands (DBNL), is looking for a strong Business Analyst.

Your working environment

DBNL is the Retail organization of ING NL, serving private individuals, SME and Midcorp clients. The Finance team controls a EUR 140bn balance sheet and significant part of the P&L of ING Group. The purpose of Financial Accounting DBNL is to provide valuable and reliable financial information to fulfil ING’s reporting obligations and to support decision making.

The Information Management team comprises 20-25 FTE, consisting of business analysts and architects. The team is responsible for  the operation and evolution of the Finance data warehouses and the related processes and reports, supporting Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Finance Business Advice within DBNL. The team continuously adapts to changes in the DBNL business, its products, processes and IT infrastructure, to ensure proper reflection in the accounts and reports. Also, together with the end users, the team is responsible to ensure we continuously comply with the changing regulatory reporting and data requirements.

Changes are delivered in accordance with the Finance strategy, regulatory requirements and business changes. We work according to ING Agile way of working principles. Important aspects in our way of working are showing flexibility, taking initiative and responsibility, continuous learning and improvement, cooperation and actively entering into a positive dialogue with others.

In this case we are looking for a Business Analyst working in the area related to Financial Reporting (Regulatory and Statutory) and Accounting.

The Business Analyst reports to the Chapter Lead Business Analyst.

What will you do?

As a Business Analyst you work in a (busdevops) squad with around 8 colleagues from different areas of expertise. Together with the other squad members you work in a constructive way on implementing changes in the Finance data warehouses and applications. Your main activities are:

  • Support the Product Owner and ensure that all requirements of all relevant stakeholders are acknowledged in the analyses and the different solution designs.

  • Analyse Finance business issues with the purpose of bringing complete solutions for the requested change.

  • Provide the stakeholders with design alternatives and their relative impact to enable proper decision making.

  • Support the delivery of solutions with an iterative and incremental agile approach by cooperating in refining the roadmap for overall solution(s) with partial deliveries (releases ,minimal viable products) and by adjusting requirements and designs based on measurable experiences and feedback.

  • Draft user stories and set-up acceptance criteria based on requirements and use case scenarios

  • Support the verification and validation of solutions by testing change deliverables and guiding users / clients in the acceptance of them.

  • Help to translate solution design into training material- and work instructions for employees

  • You take care that lessons learned and (best and next) practices from your assignments are made available to everyone.

How to succeed

  • Education at Bachelor/Master level

  • Minimal of 5 years experience in business analysis in a data warehouse environment in the world of Finance within Banks.

  • Experience working with big datasets and creating queries on databases is an absolute must

  • Knowledge of SQL Developer and/or SAS EG is a plus.

  • Working experience with Agile. Experience with Lean is a plus.

  • You are energetic and a good communicator, able to present your analyses in a clear manner

  • Analytically strong with an eye for detail, and you are also able to oversee the whole.

  • Excellent written and oral communication in English

  • You know banking products, accounting and financial reporting.

  • You are proactive, pragmatic and result-oriented.

  • You take responsibility and initiative to get the work done. For all you are a self-starter

  • You are a team player.

  • You actively ask for help and feedback, and give feedback.
