Consultant Cost Accounting

CFO NL / FA is looking for a Consultant Cost Accounting. In this role, you need  an end-to-end process mindset, a hands-on mentality and a strong drive to optimise and innovate.

As the lead designer and lead developer of the DBNL Shared Services cost model you work closely with numerous stakeholders (Tribes, Global Tax, FBA DBNL and FBA in other countries) to further professionalize and improve the cost model that we have built in order to determine the prices for services sold. You are able to oversee the end-to-end process, see the big picture and translate the requirements from various stakeholders in an efficient process/solution. You determine the impact of proposed changes, take timely decisions and implement those changes in line with the organization’s long-term strategy. You monitor the cost models performance during monthly runs, identify bottlenecks and take timely actions to structurally solve them. You manage to get your message across and are not scared from facing resistance. Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills are therefore a key to fulfilling this role successfully.

Your role

As a Consultant Cost Accounting you will be running, analysing, and improving the cost model for DBNL. Your goal is to make the process as smooth, safe and easy as possible both for our Finance teams and the business.

Your responsibilities:

  • Run and improve the end-to-end process for cost modelling and invoicing of DBNL Shared Services
  • Be the lead designer and lead developer for the DBNL Shared Services cost model built in CostPerform (working knowledge of CostPerform is considered a plus)
  • Design, analyse and interpret (financial) data models and data streams (working knowledge of SQL and financial management is considered a plus)
  • Cross-organization & outside FA oriented - work with various stakeholders (Tribes, Global Tax, FBA DBNL and FBA in other countries) to align on cost modelling approach
  • Assist stakeholders in understanding the data and finance principles underlying the cost model and when needed provide possible correcting actions
  • Professionalize the Data Governance in the broadest sense and improve the Data Quality in the end-to-end process
  • Validate business needs regarding cost reporting and delivery on the needs

Do you recognize yourself in this profile:

  • You have a Master’s degree or an equivalent work level
  • You have work experience in a complex cost accounting environment
  • You are familiar with CostPerform or another cost modelling tool and eager to learn
  • You are familiar with SQL or eager to learn
  • You have the capabilities to explain complicated analysis to a non-technical audience
  • You are fluent in English and are clear communicator. Fluency in Dutch is a plus
  • You are a team player, but are able to deliver individually in close cooperation with other ING colleagues
  • You are easy to work with and have a drive to implement and maintain the framework
