Benelux Senior Financials Equity Analyst in Amsterdam

Your role

Equity Markets is part of Financial Markets. The equity platform of ING operates from different financial centers: Amsterdam, Brussels and New York; and is fully integrated with a single P&L and one management team. It works with three main equities activities: sales trading, sales and research with a core focus on the Benelux listed corporates. You will be part of the Benelux Equity Research team which is based in both Amsterdam and Brussels. The role of Financials Equity Analyst will be based in Amsterdam.

Your key responsibilities

• Conducting written company research and financial analysis including financial modelling/valuation, writing in-depth bottom-up research reports on Benelux Financials (Banks, Insurers and Diversified Financials) based on data analysis, field/market research, company visits (sector peers, clients, suppliers), expert interviews, and capital markets events.

• Actively pitching ideas and marketing of research reports towards internal institutional sales desks and external institutional investors (e.g. Hedge funds, Pension funds, Investment Offices, Asset managers) in- and outside Europe.

• Active involvement in Primary transactions, including IPOs.

• Maintaining and/or setting up relationships with international institutional investors and with Board level (CEO/CFO) management of listed and non-listed corporates.

As a Senior Financials Equity Analyst you will also need:

• Master degree with an emphasis on Finance and preferably supported by a post-Master CFA level 3 or CEFA degree

• At least 5-10 years of relevant working experience

• Prior experience as a Banking/Insurance analyst, or active as a Banking & Insurance specialist in an advisory/analytical role, or buy/sell side equity experience is required

• Strong analytical skills (including advanced Excel skills)

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Good client relationship skills (asset managers and Board level management)

• Strong drive to excel i.e. have the ability to work in a team within a highly demanding working environment

• The ability to work with deadlines
