Description department
The department Financial Reporting & Operations is part of Corporate Financial Center. The primary objective of Corporate Financial Center is to provide Aegon’s Management Board, Executive Board and Supervisory Board with meaningful financial information (e.g. capital, income, balance sheet etc.) to support the board’s decision making process and to deliver legally required reporting.
To help achieve this objective, the Financial Reporting & Operations team acts as a shared service center for Aegon Corporate Center and Aegon International for global reporting. The Financial Reporting & Operations team is responsible for gathering financial and certain non-financial data routinely in a controlled manner, reporting related to the wider range of global and International deliverables and delivering information for compliance reporting purposes and as a basis for Aegon’s management information. Furthermore, the department maintains the books and records of holding companies in The Hague, Budapest, and Hong Kong.
The department works very closely with other disciplines within the Corporate Center and International such as the Financial Planning & Analysis, Group Treasury, Group Risk, Investor Relations and the other groups within Corporate Center. In addition, Financial Reporting & Operations works closely together wit all Aegon’s business units to ensure timely and high-quality information. The reporting process is a global process whereby ongoing communication and alignment with country units is essential.
The Actuarial Analyst Group FR&O is a professional in the flexible pool reporting to the chief of staff. On a day-to-day basis the actuarial analyst is supervised by a senior financial/actuarial analyst to produce specific deliverables in the financial reporting space.
The job in a nutshell
The Actuarial Analyst Group FR&O is a generalist, responsible for executing work and apprenticing skills to increase competence. You will gather, consolidate and report financial and non-financial information for Aegon worldwide, including preparation of the reports, automated validation checks and supporting all users of the global reporting tools. Within this role you will be flexibly deployed across all reporting delivery teams; Financial reporting, IFRS reporting and SII reporting.
Activities include:
Financial Reporting – Assisting in the Aegon Group financial reporting process, such as IFRS, Solvency II and Market Value Numbers (MVN). Ensure timely, accurate and complete financial reporting, in line with relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g. IFRS, SOX, SEC, SII etc). Maintain adequate Group financial systems Gloria and drive one-time right reporting.
Regulatory reporting – Assisting in the regulatory reporting process covering requests from group regulators such as DNB, EIOPA, IAIS / GSII and other initiatives / requirements. Main reports are Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR), Regulatory Supervision Report (RSR), quarterly Financial Stability Templates (FST) and quarterly and annual Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRT).
Instructions – Assist with the preparation of instructions to reporting units regarding new and/or changed financial policies, key performance indicators and guidelines as well as advise countries on embedding these policies and guidelines in their processes, so that reporting units are optimally able to work with new and/or changed financial policies and guidelines and quality of reporting is improved worldwide.
Group and Local support - Provide support on key Group processes such as annual BMTP, strategy cycle and investor days etc. Provide support to local finance departments in closing a period, from own expertise, in order to enhance the quality and compliance of financial reporting.
Data quality - Provide and assure high quality/data integrity of all information/reports (such as reports, tables, etc.), and continuously strive to promote and implement effective automation and efficiency in existing processes.
Tick & tie - Perform tick & tie activities ensuring management information and external financial reporting are error free.
Audit process - Work closely with the groups’ external auditor performing audit procedures on consolidated financial information and facilitate their processes where appropriate.

Every two years, you will switch to another business unit in The Hague: Aegon The Netherlands, Aegon Asset Management, Aegon Group and Aegon Bank. These rotations (3 times max.) facilitate your development as a broad professional. This is your future job because you:
A master’s degree in Econometrics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or equivalent and a maximum of 2 years of work experience
A maximum of 0-3 years of relevant financial analysis/reporting experience incl. in IFRS and SII
Expertise geared towards actuarial and finance/accounting (actuarial minimum, both is a strong plus)
Comfort with a broad range of tools and technologies, analytics and financial analyses
Strong data analysis skills (e.g., Excel, Access)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

What we offer / Compensation
You will be earning between € 3250-, and € 3.500, - based on your experience.
You will also receive a thirteenth month and a holiday allowance in the form of a monthly flex budget, amounting to 16.7% of your monthly salary
