Senior Principal Accounting in Amsterdam

COORF Global Services is looking for a Senior Principal Accounting to strengthen the STP Circle.

The opportunity 

As a Senior Principal Accounting within the STP circle, you work closely with numerous stakeholders (Tribes, Business Partners, IBSS locations) and your other Circle colleagues to optimise and innovate STP services. You are therefore constantly looking for new technologies, tools and/or market developments (within and outside ING) to improve your service and ensure it is future-proof.

The team 

As a Service Owner, you determine impact of proposed changes and take timely decisions, in line with the organization’s long-term strategy and KPIs. You monitor service levels performance, identify bottlenecks and take timely actions to structurally solve them. You manage to get your message across and are not scared of facing resistance. You are the ambassador of the Global Services vision across COORF organization and beyond and stakeholders see you as a valuable partner to achieve common goals. Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills are therefore a key to fulfilling the role of a Service Owner successfully.

Role and responsibilities 

You have an end-to-end process mindset, identify interdependencies between processes easily and have a strong drive to optimise and innovate. You will be:

  • Responsible for an end-to-end STP Accounting service and its continuous improvement

  • Work closely together with the Service Owner Reporting to cover for the end-to-end Accounting and Reporting processes

  • Cross-circle & outside GS oriented - work with various stakeholders (Business Partners, Tribes, Global Services Circles, IBSS locations) to align on strategies and manage the relationships on continuous basis

  • Track service level performance and set priority to improve it in close collaboration with the STP teams as an intermediary, who motivates, stimulates and challenges the teams 

  • Make use of new technology standards, tools and/or market developments within and outside ING

  • Use data analytics to determine improvements

  • Optimize Data Quality in close cooperation with the Data Quality Circle not only end-to-end within the processing chain but also horizontal across the business lines. Making the Accounting service and controls more generic and reusable, avoiding exceptions per business line

  • Linking pin for aligning demand from the Data Quality Circle with the Tribes jointly with the Business Partner Services Circle

  • Determine impact and drive decisions, in line with the organization’s long-term strategy & KPIs

  • Service governing & backlog management

  • Support onboardings and requests / changes

  • Be SOX compliant and aligned with MSFRR and cover together with the control roles all CAS, KPMG, ORM items that are key for the quality of the service delivery

  • 10+ years of work experience in a complex accounting environment  

  • University Degree in relevant field

  • Strong process management skills – e.g. Green belt or similar degree

  • Sound knowledge of IFRS, FM and Lending products and Product Accounting. Financial reporting knowledge is a plus

  • Affinity with IT systems

  • KPI driven and has a long-term perspective

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to act on his own convictions, also when risks are involved

  • Stakeholder management skills, uses indirect influence

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and a clear vision

  • Ability to act and perform successfully in a fast-moving, agile and international environment
