Job Overview

As a senior team member of the Performance and Cost Management team you are responsible for understanding, analysing and challenging financial performance across the global COO Domain. You will work directly with MBB and MBB-1 members, quickly synthesizing content and giving good advice.

 

You are a business partner to both the Group COO and his management team bringing strong expertise, innovative analysis and well reasoned advice to both challenge and support! Specifically:

  • You Own the Numbers. You  develop financial analysis and insight that goes beyond the readily available data.  Using a mixture of financial and non-financial data, qualitative insight, you look beyond the numbers  to piece together the true commercial story. There isn’t always a right answer and senior stakeholders’ requirements constantly change, so you must be comfortable with ambiguity, be sparky, curious and be adaptable.
  • You have strong Stakeholder Management Skills: You are proactive at all levels of the organisation including MBB. You are the key point of contact and are able to get further insight through these relationships to better advise and challenge.
  • You Tell the right Story: Your work is high impact, and highly visible to senior management - much of which is consumed by MBB and MBB-1 level.  You are responsible for crafting clear arguments and stories in a convincing way and confidently presenting, discussing and challenging at all levels of the organisation. You have excellent written and presentation skills.

How to succeed

You are a high energy expert in financial analysis and business advice and will be able to navigate this complex environment delivering value-added finance advice. You are comfortable being autonomous, self-organising and are independent thinking. You are happy to work with ambiguity but tenacious about getting answers and gaining understanding.  Importantly you can communicate the key messages clearly, concisely and invest the time in taking your stakeholder on the journey.

  • 5+ years’ experience working with senior management in management accounting / business advice
  • A university and/or post-graduate degree (in business, accounting, economics or related field are highly desirable)
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communicator (verbal, written)
  • Experience of ING’s financial systems (i.e. MISOB)
  • Useful to have knowledge of operations and good understanding of the banking processes/products
  • Current residence in the Netherlands is preferred
