Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Financial Markets Client Control (FMCC) is a department within Financial Markets (FM) Business Services (part of ING Wholesale Banking). The department consists of a Centre of Excellence (COE) in Amsterdam and two execution locations in Bratislava and Manila that provide services to 28 countries worldwide. The aim of these services is ensure control throughout the client and counterparty life-cycle (from on-boarding to exit and all processes in between) for FM and Group Treasury. FMCC works using ING’s One Agile Way Of Working principles.

Your role

The Process Manager holds end-to-end responsibility for the process vision and strategy, as well as for creating, harmonizing, operationalizing, managing and improving multiple processes. As a process manager:

  • You have in-depth knowledge of the processes in your scope and you are the person to go to when decisions are required on exceptional cases.
  • You support the Global Head of Financial Markets Client Control in the creation of vision, strategy and roadmap of Epics to develop and improve the global client control processes.
  • You are able to implement change and will steer further development of the processes by delivering Epics.
  • You are responsible for 1st line quality assurance, where the quality and throughput time of the output is tested.
  • You are responsible for compliancy to internal and external regulation or policies while also focusing on handling time (operational costs) and the agreement of our services with our (business) clients Financial Markets and Group Treasury.
  • You are responsible for the development of craftsmanship – how the processes should be executed, in line with the Orange Code.

The Process Manager plays a vital role when new or changing requirements or improvements affect processes under your responsibility.

Your key responsibilities

  • You sustain relevant knowledge level for stream members in our execution locations (e.g. new regulations) and  proactively keep knowledge up to date on regulations related to processes.
  • You are the SPOC for business & other streams (e.g. escalations, status updates).
  • You are responsible for Quality Assurance (e.g. Work Place Instructions approval) and sign-off / accept process changes.
  • You review the performance statistics (E.G. or workflow tooling like PEGA flowforce) and advice management on capacity requirements.
  • You build a relationships with the team in the execution location, identify and retain talent and engage in a discussion with the local team lead on team member growth opportunities.
  • You manage stakeholders and collect & address stakeholder feedback periodically (continuous service improvement) and report this back to the FMCC SteerCo on period basis.
  • You take on the role of Process Specialist (process execution) when needed.

When accepting changes or new processes:

  • You are setting clear priorities together with the FMCC leadership.
  • You estimate operational impact in terms of capacity and knowledge and share this with the epic owner who is guiding the change.
  • You review and sign off on relevant documentation like Epic Description Documents (EDD’s), Workplace Instructions (WPI’s), technical requirements etc.
  • Together with the epic owner, you pro-actively involve all stakeholders (both FMCC and non-FMCC) that are required for the realization of the Epic.

Focus Areas

As Process Manager Regulatory, you are responsible for the business as usual (BAU) processes that relate to regulatory onboarding of clients as part of the client lifecycle. Regulatory onboarding means ensuring that the client is compliant to relevant regulations like EMIR, MIFID, SFTR etc. before ING can start trading with them. You are the owner of these processes and will liaise with Epic Owners/Change Team on discussions with 2nd line for regulatory rules and changes to ensure that they are updated on a timely basis.

As Process Manager Regulatory, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Being an SME/SPOC towards Second or Third LoD team regarding inputs on various topics like audit, key control testing etc.
  • Pro-actively identify gaps in the current regulatory basis on a continuous basis and implement it through epics with the help of team members in the BAU team.
  • Utilise your expertise on guiding and providing inputs on technical/functional improvements on the regulatory processes.
  • Managing Queries/Escalations on regulatory onboarding processes from FO Sales or Support.

Competencies and experience

  • Working experience in the banking sector (Financial Markets)
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets business and counterparties (brokers, CCP’s, venues etc.)
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets regulations (EMIR, MiFID, SFTR, Dodd Frank, FINSA, MAS)
  • Experienced in process management in an international environment and working with outsourcing locations / delivery centres
  • Experienced in the use of workflow tooling and using reporting modules for management information
  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint and able to present your work and ideas structured and clear
