Group Finance is looking for a Senior Associate Finance Control with a statutory reporting background and a desire to work in a dynamic and internationally oriented finance team at ING’s Head Office.
External Reporting is the corporate staff department that is responsible for the external financial and regulatory reporting of ING Group and ING Bank. Within Group Finance, the Integrated reporting team is responsible for the IFRS consolidated financial statements, SEC reporting and ESG reporting. The team provides consolidated financial overviews for, amongst other, the quarterly financial press-release, bond prospectuses and Audit Committee. Furthermore, the team drives continuous improvements in the reporting processes and plays a key role in the implementation of new IFRS and ESG reporting requirements.
This is a dynamic environment as requirements and expectations of all stakeholders are continuously evolving. Besides external stakeholders, which includes auditors, the department supports internal stakeholders by providing insight in key developments and advising on the impact of regulatory and financial developments.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Within the department you will become part of a team that is mainly focussed on analysing and understanding the key developments in statutory (related) reports, but also participate in projects to improvement the reporting processes and data quality. The work includes maintaining the day-to-day relationship with the auditors and other corporate staff departments..
The employee contributes to the consolidated quarterly- and year-end financial reporting of ING, and analyse the reports for completeness and correctness in conformity with IFRS accounting standards;
Perform on analytical review to understand developments in the reports
Help to explain financial developments and respond to questions of internal stakeholders;
Understand the end-to-end Finance processes and data model, including the interdependencies with other domains. By making improvement proposals, you contribute to quality improvements of existing processes, systems and reporting structures and you take part in setting-up and implementing new processes and systems;
Maintain a solid control framework to ensure the integrity of ING’s statutory reports within Group Finance Integrated Reporting;
Maintain internal contacts and network across departments involved in statutory reporting;
Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will have moderate experience in the area of reporting and is familiar with IFRS requirements;
You have multiple years working experience within the banking sector, preferably in the area of financial reporting;
Fluent in English, both written and verbal;

Superb analytical skills, having an eye for detail but the ability to understand the “big picture”;
Good communication and persuasion skills and be able to present financial issues in a simple and understandable way to internal stakeholders;
Have a pro-active attitude and ability to operate in a demanding and changing environment;
Team player that can build bridges across functions;
You hold at least a Master degree, preferable in the areas of accountancy, business administration or finance and control;
