Internships with ING
Every year, more than 500 students from secondary vocational/higher education (HBO and WO level)
join ING on an internship, either working within one of the many departments or conducting research
for their graduation project. While there are of course no guarantees, in practice many former ING
interns subsequently move into a starter’s role at ING or onto the ING International Talent
Programme (traineeship). Whatever happens, an internship at ING is the ideal opportunity to meet a
wide variety of people, start to build up your own network, and learn about many different aspects of
business – which all adds up to a great start for the rest of your career!
Internships at the Finance Department
Finance Domestic Bank is responsible for the financial accounting and Statutory/Regulatory reporting
of all Retail activities in ING’s home market. One element which becomes more and more important
is reporting on finance sustainability. It is a topic that we still have to explore, investigate and
implement into the reporting structure. Would you like to be part of this transition and work in an

Internship opportunity: Finance Sustainability
The purpose of this assignment is providing an advice to the Finance MT on setting up the robust
reporting streams that enable compliance with all (future) financial sustainability reporting
requirements (on Environmental, Social and Governance = ESG). Additionally, you will work on
embedding the changes in the organisation for at least all applicable ESG disclosure requirements of
What will your main tasks be?
Support in drafting an implementation plan, including but not limited to:
Assistance in investigating all ESG related financial disclosure requirements and the applicable timelines;
Assistance in determining which requirements are applicable for Domestic Bank NL
and for which products;
Assistance in performing a gap analysis;
Assistance in drafting a roadmap.
Support in designing governance processes to safeguard data quality;
Support in implementing the applicable ESG disclosure requirements applicable for 2022;
Provide administrative support to various events, meetings, calls, reporting, project coordination activities, and project reporting.
Since you will immediately operate as a member of the team, we expect:
Master or Bachelor (third year bachelor) student with high interest in Sustainability/
Sustainable Development and Finance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Great relationship skills with stakeholders from different levels and areas
High ambition/ energy level
Strong organisational/project management skills
Structured, proactive and teamwork
Fluency in business English is required and oral proficiency in Dutch preferred
Positive learning attitude
