Help build the best digital bank of the Netherlands and beyond

Working with ING Domestic Bank means working in a very dynamic and innovative environment, where the ambition is to be and remain leader in (international) banking. You will be working in the tribe Digital & Customer Interactions which focuses on the optimisation of digital customer experiences for ING the Netherlands, ING Belgium, ING DiBa (Germany), ING Luxembourg and possibly other ING countries in the future.

You will work as Safe Business Officer in a small SBO cross border team on a joint mission: realising the best digital bank and achieving our tribe purpose: We connect you to freedom.

You will aim to contribute fresh ideas and accept challenges in a swiftly changing and complex environment. You are a person who listens and invests in others to realise joint ideas. You are an enthusiastic colleague who is willing to help others to be successful and you always think a step ahead.

Your role & work environment

You will ensure that the activities of ING are carried out safely for all our customers and that we can show this to regulators, (internal) supervisors and the outside world. You will contribute to the integrity of the products, services and co-workers and compliance of ING toward the outside world.

You will coordinate the first line of defence within Digital & Customer Interactions. You will promote awareness of the concept of ‘Safe Business’ to ensure that business risks are under control. This means that you will control the entire risk process proactively, from identification to management and mitigation of the risks. You will ensure that the number of non-financial risks stays within the ‘risk appetite’ of the organisation and that risks are identified in a transparent way. You collaborate in a cross-border partnership to work out and further develop uniform processes and make (international) risk processes smarter and easier for and with Customer Journey Experts.

Your responsibilities

  • You will advise and assist in the implementation of new and upgraded non-financial risk policies, procedures and measures.
  • In cooperation with the stakeholders you will identify risk items, based on business knowledge of end-to-end digital processes; you will provide evidence and will document and report the risks. You are actively involved in discussions on, for instance, risk acceptance and measures to limit risk factors.
  • You will carry out analyses (risk and gap analysis, scenario analysis, major incident and impact analysis).
  • You are gatekeeper of the Product Approval and Review Process (PARP) within the tribe.
  • You will provide and maintain risk awareness and will evaluate the need for first-line training for employees. You will adapt training to the needs of the first line and will organise the annual NFR training and the Awareness Plan.
  • You will supervise the quality of the non-financial risk framework by identifying the major risks, carrying out key control tests and gathering evidence to avoid the risk of financial losses or reputational damage.
  • You are the contact person for the second line of defence.
  • You will assist in business continuity processes such as WFO/Hybrid mode and Business Continuity Plan.
  • You will work cross-border to further develop uniform risk processes.

What do we ask of you?

  • You are in possession of a degree in higher education or a demonstrable comparable level of performance;
  • At least 3 years of experience in banking or risk management;
  • You have a strong affinity with digital channels, preferably also mobile;
  • You have a strong affinity with IT and are well informed on the various digital products, services and latest developments;
  • Relevant risk and audit certification is a plus;
  • You have good written and spoken command of the English language;
  • Knowledge of Agile Way of Working & Ceremonies;
  • Good analytical skills and coordination & organisation skills;
  • You are inquisitive and eager to learn.
