Account Manager for Transaction Services in Amsterdam


ING is looking for two Account Managers to join our Transaction Services Sales department.

The TS Account Manager owns the TS client relationship during the lifetime of the contract the clients has awarded us with. The TS Account Manager ensures the overall cross-border customer satisfaction and monitors, retains and grows the existing TS business for selected multinational WB clients at a global level. In this role the TS Account Manager has revenue responsibility for maintaining and growing the existing business (in-contract sales). The TS Account Manager works closely with TS Sales (who focusses on originating: new deal generation), Relationship Management (PAM/LAM), the CLT teams, Operations and other support departments.

The TS Account Manager owns the full TS relationship which means he/she is responsible for the existing Payments & Cash Management and Trade (Guarantees, L/Cs etc) mandate(s) clients maintain at ING. He/She works dedicated to a portfolio of large corporates and ensures smooth cross-country servicing. Takes on a pro-active role to ensure that client satisfaction targets are met, and that the commercial and operational quality of the service in the client portfolio continuously improves. The TS Account Manager functionally reports to the Global Lead of TS AM and hierarchically to the NL Transaction Services Country Head.

Your work environment

  • Wholesale Banking Transaction Services is an international environment. Within the team, Dutch is the main langue spoken and correspondence internally is mainly in English

  • As primary contact for the client, you will be part of the deal team in case of renewal of TS Mandates and you will contribute to RFP’s

  • You will pro-actively and regularly make client reviews, monitor TS client revenues on a regular basis and conduct client visits in order to discuss service levels, volume discussions and other needs

  • You will be responsible for operating under our KYC guidelines

  • You will be part of the Virtual Client Teams (multiproduct) for your respective clients

  • You will be end-to-end responsible for servicing a client portfolio of about 15 Wholesale Banking clients (UEP level) and working closely with the CLT teams, who are responsible for the day-to-day servicing of clients

  • For the clients in your portfolio you will be the primary contact for the existing TS relationship and end-to-end responsible for client satisfaction

Whom we are looking for?

  • Proactive with problem solving capabilities and focus on quality

  • An ability to learn and grow in this area of expertise

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within Transaction Services (Cash Management/Treasury)

  • Bachelor or Academic degree preferable with a certified course adjusted

  • Able to manage complex sales/service processes across regions with multiple stakeholders and deadlines

  • Accurate and results-oriented professional with profound communication skills

  • Fluent in English and Dutch. Other EMEA languages are beneficial

  • You able to manage, retain and increase client revenues ( in- contract sales responsibility) for the selected portfolio consisting of complex, x-border and mostly multi product client relationships

  • You are able to identify non TS leads and offer such leads to TS Sales and Relationship management in case of non TS products

  • You have the ability to regularly update yourself on compliance/risk procedures and regulations in the bank/market

You will advise clients on potential impact of projects or changes within or outside of the bank
