Business Controller (Finance Advice Expert) in Amsterdam

We are looking for a Business Controller to strengthen our Finance Business Advice team. Role and responsibilities 

You will join the Finance Business Advice COO & Tech team, a department which consists of 10 finance professionals advising both the COO as well as the CIO in the Netherlands.

In this role you will have several business partners whom you will advise. Your advice is based on the insights you obtain from financial analyses, with a focus on the development of the value drivers. Next to the regular work, you will also participate as financial expert in strategic projects on an ad-hoc basis.

In sum, you are a trusted advisor for senior management and contribute to strategic discussions with your financial expertise.

This is what your activities will look like:

• Together with the business you create the forecast and the plan to deliver on these ambitions;
• Monitoring and challenging performance by tracking the value drivers;
• Making complex analyses, which you present in an easy way;
• Responsible for (periodic) internal reporting (and when necessary external);
• Continuously look for improvements.

• Financial Master degree
• 3+ years in an Financial Advice position
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, PowerBI skills are a pre
• You love to work with numbers and have a genuine interest in banking and controlling the expense base
• You are not looking for a traditional accounting role, but rather want to make impact as a strategic advisor. You have a curious attitude and a willingness to learn
• Experience in translating complex data into sound and clear advice
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
