Your role and work environment

As a member of this new team, you will be involved in developing a Finance as a Service (“FaaS”) proposition for our Real Estate clients. This new proposition must enhance the flexibility of our balance sheet and ensure that REF Business Banking NL (“REF BB NL”) remains the leading financing platform in the Dutch real estate market for the foreseeable future. Together with the relevant Wholesale Banking (“WB”) products teams, you will assist on new and existing distribution partnerships, on complex (syndicated) financing structures and look for new ways to place or sell-down real estate loans (i.e., securitizations, debt funds). The FaaS team and you, will work closely together with existing ING distribution teams and channels, yet also come up with new and innovative ways to increase our distribution capacity and therefore help our clients.

In this position, you will support the other colleagues of the Finance as a Service sub-team (in total 3 FTE) in all activities, from distribution activities, optimizing operational processes, client pitches to marketing efforts. The FaaS team will be part of the Center of Expertise (6 FTE), which will give you an even broader picture of REF BB NL.

Internal/external contacts and nature of contacts

You will work in a dynamic environment within REF BB NL, with Dutch Real Estate clients and several international stakeholders.

• Internal: REF Front Office (Relationship management and Account Management), REF squads and operations, Business Banking, WB CRM, GLC, Balance Sheet Distribution, REF Syndications, CS&A, Groenbank, Legal DBNL, Sustainable Finance; and
• External: Real Estate clients, banks, institutional investors, law firms, family offices

Your key responsibilities

As a Financing Specialist in the FaaS team, you have a.o. the following responsibilities:

• Work out client pitches to advise clients on their financing structure or specific financings;
• Transaction support for operations and portfolio management (Portfolio desk);
• Work on the optimization and digitalization of the existing and future OTD portfolio;
• Support front office in structuring (sales, GLC and application) and assist in the financing process of club deal and syndicated loan transactions;
• Support REF Operations to ensure that the REF organization is better fit for distribution activities;
• Managing internal stakeholders (e.g. Operations squads, Portfolio desk, BSD, REF Syndications, Groenbank);
• Support other team members in investigation the appetite in the capital and financial markets for Real Estate loans, both for distribution partnerships and syndicated loans;
• Join other FaaS team members in client visits and prospects;
• Develop a network within the relevant WB product teams who are involved in the actual distribution; and
• Come up with new ideas to increase the distribution capacity of REF BB NL and find ways how we can better help our clients (even if this will not be via the REF BB NL balance sheet)

• Master degree in Real Estate, Business or Finance related studies;
• Some experience in real estate, banking and/or debt advisory;

• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Als collega van dit nieuwe team ben je betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van een Finance as a Service ("FaaS") propositie voor onze Real Estate klanten. Deze nieuwe propositie moet de flexibiliteit van onze balans vergroten en ervoor zorgen dat Real Estate Finance Business Banking NL ("REF BB NL") ook de toekomst het leidende financieringsplatform in de Nederlandse vastgoedmarkt blijft. Samen met de relevante Wholesale Banking ("WB") productteams assisteer je bij complexe (gesyndiceerde) financieringsstructuren, het opzetten van nieuwe distributiepartnerschappen en zoek je naar nieuwe manieren om het leningboek te verkopen (d.w.z. securitisaties, schuldfondsen). Het FaaS-team en jij werken nauw samen met de bestaande distributieteams en -kanalen van ING, maar bedenken ook nieuwe en innovatieve manieren om onze distributiecapaciteit te vergroten en zo onze klanten te helpen.

In deze functie ondersteun je de andere collega's van het Finance as a Service sub-team (in totaal 3 FTE) bij alle werkzaamheden, variërend van het distributievraagstuk, optimalisatie van operationele processen, client pitches tot andere (vastgoed gerelateerde) strategische vraagstukken die intern of bij klanten spelen. Het FaaS team is onderdeel van het Centre of Expertise (8 FTE) waarin strategische thema’s als Duurzaamheid, Innovatie en Communicatie zijn ondergebracht. Je komt terecht in een team met jonge en ambitieuze collega's, die van elkaar willen leren en waarin initiatief wordt gestimuleerd en gefaciliteerd.

Interne/externe samenwerkingen

Je werkt in een dynamische omgeving binnen REF BB NL, met Nederlandse Real Estate klanten en diverse internationale stakeholders.

• Intern: REF Front Office (Relatie- en Accountmanagement), REF squads en operations, Business Banking, WB CRM, GLC, Balance Sheet Distribution, REF Syndications, Capital Structuring & Advisory, Groenbank, Legal DBNL, Sustainable Finance; en
• Extern: vastgoedklanten, banken, institutionele beleggers, advocatenkantoren, family offices.

Wat ga je doen?

Als Financieringsspecialist in het FaaS-team heb je o.a. de volgende verantwoordelijkheden:

• Uitwerken van client pitches en investment teasers;
• Werken aan de optimalisatie en digitalisering van de bestaande en toekomstige Originate-to-Distribute (OTD) portefeuille;
• Ondersteunen frontoffice bij structurering (verkoop, GLC en aanvraag) en assisteren bij het financieringsproces van club deal en syndicated loan transacties;
• Ondersteuning REF Operations om ervoor te zorgen dat de REF-organisatie beter geschikt is voor distributieactiviteiten;
• Aansturen van interne stakeholders (bijv. Operations squads, Portfolio desk, BSD, REF Syndications, Groenbank);
• Ondersteuning bij het onderzoeken van de appetite op de kapitaal- en financiële markten voor vastgoedleningen, zowel voor distributiepartnerschappen als gesyndiceerde leningen;
• Andere FaaS-teamleden vergezellen bij klantbezoeken;
• Ontwikkelen van een netwerk binnen de relevante WB-productteams die betrokken zijn bij de feitelijke distributie; en
• Nieuwe ideeën bedenken om de distributiecapaciteit van REF BB NL te vergroten en manieren te vinden hoe we onze klanten beter kunnen helpen (ook als dit niet via de REF BB NL-balans is).

Met een bewezen trackrecord en technische vaardigheden:

• Vloeiend in Engels en Nederlands.
