Your work environment

Finance Information Management, which is part of Finance within Domestic Bank Netherlands (DBNL), is looking for a strong Finance Business Analyst to work on optimisation and automation of (data) processing for management reporting and providing insights about customer profitability to our stakeholders

In Finance Information Management we enable the delivery of valuable and reliable financial information and data of high quality to fulfil ING’s reporting obligations and to support decision making both for Financial Accounting and Finance Business Advice.

The team continuously adapts to changes in the bank’s business, its products, processes and IT infrastructure, to ensure proper reflection in ING’s financial and management reporting. Together with the end users, the team is responsible to ensure we continuously comply with the changing management regulatory and reporting requirements as well as integrating changes in business products and data flows in financ reporting.

Changes are delivered in accordance with the Finance strategy, regulatory requirements and business changes.

This vacancy is in a team of 24 people. It is a mixed group in terms of nationalities, ages, experience and gender, where we find it important everyone can feel part of the team

Your role and responsibilities

As a Business Analyst you will work in a (BusDevOps) squad with around 8 colleagues. The squad is responsible for implementing changes in and optimisation of statutory and regulatory reporting, This involves amongst others implementing new requests from our stakeholders (Financial Accounting) in statutory and regulatory reporting as well as integration new products and data flows in the same context.

Together with the other squad members you work in a constructive way on implementing changes in the Finance data warehouses and applications.

Your main activities will be:

  • Supporting the product owner and take the lead in finance related changes, ensuring that all requirements of all relevant stakeholders are acknowledged in the analysis and the proposed solution designs.
  • Designing and developing new IT solutions that are future proof and easy to maintain, in close cooperation with the other team members
  • Managing the full process of a change, from impact analysis, through requirements gathering in direct consultation with the users/stakeholders to solution design to coordination with the architects to user stories to testing to release and after care.
  • Analyse finance business issues with the purpose of bringing complete solutions for the requested change.
  • Provide the stakeholders with design alternatives and their impact to enable proper decision making.
  • The team is responsible for the delivery of solutions with an iterative and incremental agile approach by cooperating in refining the roadmap for overall solution(s) with partial deliveries (releases, minimal viable products) and by adjusting requirements and designs based on measurable experiences and feedback.
  • Writing user stories for the engineers and set-up acceptance criteria based on requirements and use case scenarios
  • Support the verification and validation of solutions by testing change deliverables and guiding users / clients in the acceptance of them.
  • Help to translate solution design into training material- and work instructions for end-users
  • Make sure that lessons learnt and (best and next) practices from your assignments are made available to everyone.

You are a pro-active, dedicated, and independent thinker who takes responsibility and initiative to get the work done. A true data loving self-starter that can display pragmatism and proactivity with an ability to work in a demanding environment.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A Bachelor or Master degree
  • 4+ years experience in Finance in an Banking environment
  • Knowledge of Retail Banking Products is desired
  • Knowledge of SQL Developer and/or SAS EG managing big datasets or creating queries is an absolute plus
