The Finance Controls & Projects team is part of WB Finance CFO organisation and consists of Finance professionals. The team is responsible for ensuring all financial data are of robust quality, enabling our EMEA/NL CFO to sign off on regulatory and statutory accounts for WB Netherlands.
Role and responsibilities
Recently, this team has become responsible for globally embedding the product control function for Banking Books as laid out in the Global Valuation policy. An important part of your job will be to support this integration of the product control function for Banking Books and to support other locations in this. Next to this you will be involved in the monthly closing process of the WB NL base entities.
Working in the team requires interaction with many stakeholders internally, such as Finance (interact with Finance WB, Group Finance and Finance COO teams), Front Office, Risk functions (FI/FM, Credit Risk) and COO.
You are a key player with regard to embedding the Product Control / second line of defense for the Banking Books as described in the Valuation Policy within the Finance Function.
You are responsible for standard setting and documentation of policies and Terms of Reference for the Product Control Banking Book. These will be applied globally.
You act as second line of defense in various committees, being business partner to the Front Office (FO) and providing both challenge and support for the Banking Books.
You are responsible for preparing the input for the local Lending Parameter Committee and Global Banking Book Parameter Committee
You are involved in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process of the WB Netherlands entities. This includes analytical review and validation advising of accounting treatments.
You drive requirement setting for Finance processes in new Product development, actively monitoring progress in PARP’s and supporting / developing new business opportunities.
Participating in and supporting team involvement in multiple cross-functional projects and virtual teams within WB Finance to improve collaboration within both Finance and / or FO and Risk function
Focus on continuous improvements and look for efficiencies in our processes. Specifically involved in monthly and quarterly closing process, timing and delivery.

Academic degree in Finance or equivalent (Economics/ Econometrics)
3+ year relevant work experience, in an banking or accountancy environment
IFRS experience is beneficial
Knowledge and experience with Product Control activities, either in Banking (GT) and/or Trading (FM) books
Excellent (English) writing skills; concise, to the point. Deliver state of the art Policy documents and Analysis memos
Systems experience in GFRS / PSCIA / Mass beneficial
Strong knowledge of MS office, specifically PowerPoint able to build powerful presentations
Develop networks, building long-term relationships, locally and globally
Strong analytical skills: able to understand, correlate and explain complex matters quickly
Accurate: quality of work should match with high standards of our stakeholders
