Your Role and Work environment

The Finance Controls & Projects team is part of Wholesale Banking (WB) Finance and is responsible for quality control over financial data to enable the CFO WB Netherlands to sign off on the financial reports. In addition, analysis of financial data is performed to support and advice WB Management Netherlands with regard to challenges and opportunities which is input for their strategic discussions. Working in the team requires interaction with many internal stakeholders, such as other Finance departments (Management Accounting WB and Group Finance), Front Office and Operations.

The opportunity

You will be:

• Supporting the WB NL Franchise organisation with backward- and forward-looking information (Income, RWA, Lending Assets. FTE's and expenses) and advice in order to help them to control and improve their financial performance. You participate in the MT of WB NL Franchise.
• Supporting the CFO WB NL with forward and backward-looking information on the region WB NL.
• Providing the monthly figures and taking care of and delivering the monthly Rolling Forecast including the 3-year Dynamic Plan for various WB NL entities.
• Actively challenging business expectations to improve accuracy of the forecast in order to improve decision making.
• Preparing flash reports for various WB NL entities containing monthly analysis of material movements.
• Performing analytical reviews on financial and regulatory reports, including balance sheet, P&L, FINREP and Liquidity reports, to enable the CFO WB Netherlands to sign off on these reports.
• Taking ownership of Ad hoc Projects and initiatives that require Finance involvement to drive ING Strategic Priorities.
• Focusing on continuous improvements and looking for efficiencies in our processes and being a backup for your colleagues in the team.

Your work environment

The Finance Projects & Controls team is part of the WB Finance and consists of Finance professionals, all with their own expertise and several years of experience at various levels of the organization. The team consist of a mixture of people with deep knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting and/or controls frameworks.

• You have an academic degree in Finance or equivalent (Economics/ Econometrics)
• Strong analytical skills: able to understand, correlate and explain complex matters quickly while working with strict deadlines.
• Excellent writing skills; concise, to the point. Deliver state of the art Policy documents and Analysis memos.
• Fluent speaking and writing skills in English
• Strong knowledge of MS office, specifically PowerPoint able to build powerful presentations
• Excellent planning and organizing skills
• Disciplined Team player able to work with agility at different levels
• Develop networks, building long-term relationships, locally and globally.
• Flexible and pragmatic: capable of delivering in a changing environment
• ​IFRS experience and knowledge of wholesale banking products (Lending and Financial Markets) is beneficial
