Responsibilities

You will join the Finance Business Advice Retail team, a department which consists of 7 finance professionals who advice the Retail organization in the Netherlands.

Our purpose is to be “A pro-active partner empowering the business with valuable information and advice”, driven by our values with “our data is always right” at the core. We take ownership, have the expertise, we communicate clear and easy and we challenge and advice.

In the Retail team you’re the controller for the liability portfolio of the Netherlands. You will work closely together with business, Pricing and Market risk colleagues on propositions, pricing, forecasting, reporting and being an ambassador in sharing knowledge. You analyze the Liability models and interpret developments which impact interest rates or the regulatory environment. Creating clear and easy advice on complex analyses to the business and our senior management. You manage the P&L of the ING Puntenwinkel and the costs of the Tribe Daily banking and participate as financial expert in strategic projects.

In sum, you are a trusted advisor for senior management and contribute to strategic discussions with your financial expertise.

This is what your activities will look like:

  • Together with the business you create the forecast on income, volume and costs and make the plan to deliver on these ambitions;

  • Monitoring and challenging performance by tracking the value drivers;

  • Making (complex) analyses, which you present in an easy way;

  • Representing Finance in the relevant Liability areas (e.g. Pricing)

  • Responsible for (periodic) internal reporting (and when necessary external);

  • Continuously look for improvements.

  • Financial Master degree

  • Experience in a financial advice position

  • Experience in translating complex data into sound and clear advice

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English

  • You love to work with numbers and have a genuine interest in banking

  • You have a curious attitude and a willingness to learn

  • You are not looking for a traditional accounting role, but rather want to make impact as a strategic advisor

  • You're a strong conceptual thinker, being able translate analyses into an easy and clear storyline
