In your first few weeks at ABN AMRO, you’ll follow the Corporate Banking Graduate Programme together with your fellow graduates, during which time you’ll get to know the corporate bank you’ll later be working for. Besides a broad introduction to ABN AMRO, you’ll participate in hands-on training in the fields of Accounting, Financial Analysis, Financial Modelling, Corporate Banking, Credit Risk and personal development. Trainings will be delivered by those at the very top of their field – including university lecturers, professional trainers and managers at ABN AMRO. Together, they will give you a solid basis for further development within the bank. At the same time, you will build an international network of graduates spanning several parts of International Clients & Capital Markets Solutions.  Following the initial general training, you’ll start in the Capital Markets Solutions rotation programme, in which you’ll get to know as many different parts of the dealing room as possible over the course of 18 months. You’ll also get the chance to branch out into one of the other departments within the corporate bank – thereby broadening your knowledge and network. After 18 months, you’ll be ready for the starting point that best matches your skills and ambitions. It’s also possible to gain experience in one of our offices abroad.

 It sounds like a cliché, but every day is different in ABN AMRO’s dealing room. Because the job is ever-changing, you’re guaranteed to learn a lot in a short space of time. From day one, you’ll work on your own assignment, which you’ll take full responsibility for. For instance, you could be working on a new management information dashboard for e-commerce; you could be developing a new pricing policy for trading; or you may be involved in “business as usual” for a specific portfolio. After one year, you’ll specialise in either the Sales team or the Trading team of CMS, and you’ll get your own portfolio straight off the bat. And all the knowledge that you gain will stand you in good stead for a great career at ABN AMRO.

Markets is the heart of Corporate Banking, and advises (Large Corporates) cliënts on the purchase and sale of (complex) financial products - for example, currency, stocks, bonds, commodities, energy, and fixed-income and structured products. Our cliënts come from different parts of the bank, from Retail and Private Banking to (Large) Corporate Cliënts and Public Sector and Financial Institutions. We carry out transactions for them 24 hours a day, five days a week, from our dealing room in Amsterdam. That means round the clock - because we offer our full-time expertise to cliënts together with the trading floors in Frankfurt, London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.
