Your job

As a Global Mobility support officer you are the center of the Global Mobility operation. In International assignments you play a crucial part in administering, coordinating and informing global HR Business Managers and employees/expats about the assignment and corresponding policies, packages and procedures. You are the gatekeeper that an assignment is in line with the policies and all necessary documents and approvals are done. Without a doubt you make sure that the employee files are compliant and administrated correctly in the systems. Coordinating the end of year process for all global expats, making sure that a correct handling is done for salary adjustments, bonuses payments, update of data in the individual Home Balance Sheet calculations; are all part of your responsibility. You work closely with our (international) HR colleagues, vendors in home and host countries and our external global tax services provider. Foremost you are an important contact person for the assignee,  you make and explain the home balance sheet calculations and inform them on relevant topics like insurances, tax, visa/work permits and relocation. Moreover, we offer you the space to grab ownership and ask you to signal opportunities to optimize (process) issues.  Because we are working in a changing environment, in which the scope of the department will broaden beyond expats, the challenge is to have operational excellence combined with working on the change. You will be an important link in this process.

Your working environment

The Mobility team is recently formed and is ABN AMRO’s policymaker for global mobility. The department used to focus on Expat assignments only, but will in the near future facilitate all international transfers within ABN AMRO; ranging from long term, short term and commuter assignments to permanent local hires recruited from abroad.  For the change around this topic we  work in a multidisciplinary team in an agile way.
The team, 5 FTE is situated in the HR department People Development and works from our headquarters in Amsterdam. This team is responsible for two topics, Succession Management and Global Employee Mobility.Our mission statement: In order to support International growth, be an attractive global organization for top talent and to be future fit in a VUCA world, we need a transparent global mobility strategy that enables us to have the right talent on the right time at the right place at the right cost and for the right reason, using an award winning platform, in a compliant way and with measurable results.

Your profile

You are an independent professional who combines consulting with operational skills. Accuracy is your middle name and cooperation is something that comes naturally to you. You are a pro-active, energetic person that enjoys working in a changing environment and feels responsible for the wellbeing of our employees in their ambition to gain international experience. You understand the business politics and feel comfortable interacting with all levels, different cultures both within and outside the organization. With a can-do approach you recognize opportunities and provide solutions. Do you think you fit? Check your profile: 

  • Knowledge of (international) HR administration on Bachelor’s level;
  • At least 5 years relevant working experience, for instance in a compensation and benefits environment;
  • Knowledge of international compensation & benefits, regulations, tax, labor law;
  • Clear affinity with tax;
  • Excellent command of the English language, both in speech and in writing;
  • Knowledge of the global ABN AMRO organization, the global HR strategy, HR-systems.
