Financial Controller Solvency II and EF Analysis in Den Haag

Function Your challenge
As a Financial Controller Solvency II & EF (Economic Framework) Analysis you ensure timely and complete financial reporting, in line with relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g. Solvency II and Aegon’s economic framework) in order to provide insight and information for management and external stakeholders (via Investor Relations). Reporting includes Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual and Medium-term reporting deliverables. Moreover, you interpret and analyze reporting unit financial reports and challenge local controllers. You provide support to local Finance and Risk departments in order to enhance the quality and compliance of financial reporting processes.

You engage with stakeholders in Group Risk and Group Finance to ensure appropriate management information is collected and reported for Aegon’s Solvency II and Economic Framework purposes as well as participating in ad hoc strategic projects at Corporate Center. You also coordinate with Finance Reporting to ensure appropriate alignment of communication and project timing, and integration of new methodology or regulation into our reporting processes.

Lastly, you evaluate past period(s) and initiate, develop, implement and maintain (changes in) guidelines and work instructions, in order to maintain and improve the internal control framework. In addition, you initiate projects to reduce complexity and improve our reporting and analysis processes.
 
The team Solvency II & EF Analysis is part of Group Finance. The primary objective of Group Finance is to provide the Executive Board, Management Board and Supervisory Board with meaningful financial and non-financial information (e.g. capital, income, balance sheet, sales etc.) to support the board’s decision making process. To help achieve this objective, the Solvency II & EF Analysis team forms a multi-disciplinary team assembled to ensure timely and high quality reporting of Risk and Capital reporting.
 
In this role you will report to the Team Lead Financial Control Solvency II & EF Analysis and you are based in The Hague, The Netherlands.

  Requirements Requirements
As Financial Controller Solvency II & EF Analysis you have excellent problem solving skills and are able to convince others when needed. In addition, you are good at establishing valuable partnerships and inspire confidence. Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics or Financial Management;
• 4 - 8 years’ work experience in a financial environment, preferably in the area of financial reporting covering management, risk, regulatory and/or capital within a bank or insurance company;
• Experience working in an international, multinational environment ;
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
