ING Tech Infra Finance is looking for a junior/ medior Financial Business Support Specialist

Your role

As a Financial Business Support Specialist you evolve within our team to support the product owners of the ING Tech Infra domain in arranging the financials around the value of their IT services. By doing so, you help them in making tradeoffs between cost, consumption, capacity, performance, features, benefits and risk in pursuit of better business outcomes.

You learn to have understanding on the dynamics that come with cost of Infra services:

• Contractual conditions and counters that have been agreed with suppliers for multiple years;
• Staffing effort needed to build and maintain the service;
• The viewpoint of the customer that is characterised by flexibility: increase demand if necessary, decrease demand when no longer necessary and only pay for what you need.

In more specific terms you will be involved in the following aspects of the service:

• Costs incurred for the delivery of the service (all materials, supporting services and staffing for the required service level);
• Counters that meet customer expectations and best fit contractual conditions;
• Projected/forecasted volume: normal capacity or estimated volume for cost recovery;
• Actual volumes: reservations or orders from customers;
• Tariff: established by product owner with support of finance;
• Consuming platforms: connections with business applications to support redistribution of cost.

You should also develop to have the capabilities of the more traditional aspects of a financial specialist:

• Being trusted advisor for senior management;
• Proactively assisting in creating opportunities for optimizing hardware and software metrics;
• Develop, provide and review meaningful business cases;
• Develop and provide Management Accounting information (actual/budget/forecast);
• Participate in the specific elements of the MTP process and deliver challenging assumptions;
• Being a business partner for the line managers within the responsible infrastructure domain(s);
• Being a liaison between (central) Finance organization (MA and FA) and (international) business organization;
• Assist in the regular monthly Tech MIS processes;
• Participate in projects.

Your work environment

The responsibilities cover challenging responsibilities for the largest domain within Tech being Tech Infra. You will report directly to head of controlling within the department Tech Infra Finance, which reports directly to the CFO Tech Finance. The controller department is increasingly expected to deliver first class financial expertise in the various business and (global) strategic initiatives. You will do this in a team of approximately 10 professional controllers. Key element is having affinity with IT infrastructure (and IT in the broader sense) and awareness of critical dependencies both inside and outside the IT infrastructure environment.

The Tech Infra domain is rapidly transforming from a traditional cost centre to a service oriented (cloud based) business enabler. This transformation is embedded in our Tech Infra One Way of Working:

Who we are looking for?

For this function the following characteristics are required: 

• A Master or Bachelor degree in Economics or Business Administration;
• Five to ten years working experience in an (international) finance organization;
• Team player, with the ability to work independently;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
• Analytical professional;
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Self-confident, strong communicator to several levels in the organization;
• Persistent;
• Proactive, client focused.
